- 9.glasses.flybrain
- medium: inkjet print of composite digital image, on canvas
- layers: digital scan of watch glasses, micrograph of a section of the nervous system of a fruit fly
- size: 90 x 90cm
- research: each of the watch glasses is 40mm square, and the fly brain (have you spotted it?) measures just 2 tenths of a millimetre! The lab uses the fruit fly to help elucidate how genes that code for cell-cell channels, called gap junctions, regulate the normal development and function of the
nervous system.
